ASUS ZenFone AR With Tango & Daydream Function | ASUS today announced ZenFone AR, a next-generation smartphone that represents a significant advance in mobile virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. It is the first smartphone that will be Tango enabled and Daydream-ready.
What is Tango?
Tango is a set of sensors and computer-vision software by Google that enables smartphone augmented reality. Tango technologies add three key capabilities — Tango motion tracking, Tango depth perception, and Tango area learning — to enable smartphone augmented reality to create unique AR user experiences, such as AR gaming, AR utilities, and indoor navigation.
What is Daydream?
Daydream is Google’s platform for high-quality, mobile virtual reality and supports Daydream VR apps. Paired with the Daydream View headset and controller, ZenFone AR will be able to let users explore new worlds, kick back in their personal VR cinema, and play games that put them at the center of action. ZenFone AR was developed in close cooperation with Google to deliver the best AR and VR experiences
With its official event automotive partner, Ingress Auto – VIPs and media guests were chauffeured to the entrance in BMW fashion in a bid to fuse both reality and augmented reality together as the world’s first Google Tango car customization app, BMW i Visualiser was also showcased during the event. This app allowed users to preview BMW cars such as the BMW i3 and BMW i8 in augmented reality where users and potential car buyers can experience a BMW car anywhere – even from the comfort of their own home. At the entrance, VIP and media guests were greeted to 2 BMW iPerformance range vehicles as the guests had the opportunity to see, touch and experience the cars before entering the premise.
