Malaysian Dragon Boat Teams Perform Admirable in Hong Kong| Malaysian Dragon Boat teams, Pacific West Dragon Boat and Pink Challengers came home bearing honours from the 2018 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival race.

2006 Champions Pacific West Dragon Boat and breast cancer survivors’ team, Pink Challengers returned to Hong Kong.

At Hong Kong’s spectacular Victoria Harbour this year to challenge teams from around the globe in a fierce competition of teamwork, speed and determination.

Pacific West Dragon Boat battled hard to place 1st Runner Up in the 2018 CCB (Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, held on 22nd June 2018.

“It is such an honour to be back in Hong Kong again to compete with the world’s best dragon boat teams. Our team did extremely well and we are proud to be able to return home to Malaysia as winners. We look forward to participating in next year’s race and to finish in first place.”

Pink Challengers who also one of the representative Malaysian Dragon Boat teams on the other hand finished 2 nd Runner Up in the Cancer Survivors Championship.

“Being able to take part once more and finishing in the top three has allowed us to further our outreach. In spreading the message that early detection. Also timely medical treatment can save life; and that there is life after breast cancer. It was thrilling to see so many cancer survivors enjoying life to the fullest, and it was just great to be a part of this experience,”

Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association

Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and co-organised by the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association (HKCDBA), the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival successfully wrapped up on 24 June.

The new “Greater Bay Area Trophy” race featured teams from nine cities in Guangdong Province, together with Hong Kong and Macao, competing for glory in Victoria Harbour.

The champion, first runner-up and second runner-up were the Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank Dragon Boat Association, the Hong Kong West Dragon Sports Association, and the Guangdong Xinhui team, respectively.

Mr Edward Yau, Secretary for Commerce, Economic and Development of the HKSAR Government, was invited to present the trophies to the winners.
